Bootstrapping EKS Clusters and App Mesh Configuration
Now that we’ve covered the architecture and key components, it’s time to get hands-on. We will set up the foundational infrastructure for cross-cluster service discovery by creating two Amazon EKS clusters in different AWS regions, enabling IAM roles and OIDC providers to support App Mesh and Cloud Map integration, and installing the App Mesh controller using Helm. We’ll also create a shared Cloud Map namespace to facilitate unified service registration across clusters and register both EKS clusters with a single, shared App Mesh service mesh. Finally, we’ll prepare the environment for secure cross-cluster communication to enable seamless and resilient service connectivity.
