Identifying unused or underutilized cloud resources is a critical step in optimizing costs. Many organizations inadvertently leave resources running that no longer serve a purpose, such as idle virtual machines, unattached storage volumes, or obsolete databases. These unused resources contribute to unnecessary spending. Similarly, underutilized resources—those that are consistently consuming only a fraction of their allocated capacity—represent an opportunity for rightsizing to save costs without compromising performance.
