Kubernetes Labels and Annotations
Kubernetes uses labels and annotations to attach metadata to API objects: both attach key–value pairs, but their purposes differ—labels are intended for grouping, selecting, and querying objects, whereas annotations carry non‑identifying metadata, such as build information or tooling hints—and understanding these differences and how to apply them will help you organize, automate, and extend your Kubernetes deployments effectively.
